Pan de Sal 2


1/3 lukewarm water
1 tablespoon active dry yeast
2 tablespoons sugar
3 eggs
3 tablespoons canola oil
4 to 5 cups of all purpose flour or unbleached bread flour or more
1 1/2 tablespoons of salt
1 teaspoon baking powder
3 tablespoons sugar
1 cup bread crumbs

Preheat oven at 375* F.

Put the yeast, sugar, and water in a bowl and mix well. Cover with a kitchen towel and let rise for 10 minutes.

In a big bowl, mix the flour, salt, baking powder, and sugar.

Beat the eggs in another bowl and add the oil. Add the yeast mixture and mix together.

Add the flour mixture half a cup each time and mix well until it forms into a ball. Put into a greased bowl and cover with a plastic wrap. Let rise for one hour.

Punch dough in the middle and knead in a floured board for 8

Cut into two or four parts and shape each part into a 2 inch round log. Roll logs in bread crumbs, then cut into 1 inch pieces.

Arrange on a greased cookie sheet 2 inches apart and let rise for 30 minutes.

Bake at 375 degrees F preheated oven for about 18 minutes or until golden brown.


Result:  Just like the first one, bread became hard after one or two days.
